Audio

Here you will find information about audio mixers and wireless microphone systems. I have had experience with all of the hardware listed below and have found that it is reliable and robust so as to stand up to the rigors of community theater. If you are looking for audio playback software, please go to the Show Control page.

Digital Mixers

Digital mixers have become mainstream now and are much more affordable than they were a few short years ago. Most digital mixers also incorporate compression, extensive EQ, gate and various effects as part of their software. In the past all of these items would have to be purchased as additional hardware. The flexibility of patching and routing is another benefit of digital mixing.

Body Pack Microphones

All of the venues that I have worked in have required that I get the microphone head close to the actors mouth in order to maximize pickup and minimize feedback and unwanted noise. I would use clear surgical tape to affix the mic to the actors face. Here are some body pack microphones that I have used successfully.
